David ClarkDDS

Dr. David Clark is the director of Bioclear Learning Centers International. He holds 36 patents internationally integral to the Bioclear Method and Bioclear Matrix System. Dr. Clark has developed the Bioclear Matrix System that promises a real advancement for placement of biologically appropriate, esthetically pleasing direct composite restorations for treating minimally invasive Class II preparations, diastema closure, and black triangle elimination combined with papilla regeneration, and traditional anterior composites.

He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Washington School of Dentistry and maintains a private practice in Tacoma, WA.

Taras KonanecDDS

Dr. Taras Konanec graduated in 1997 and is presently co-owner of Drummond Dental Group in downtown Montreal where he practices full time.

Dr. Konanec is extremely passionate about teaching and continuing education. He is presently an assistant professor and course coordinator of the preclinical operative program and is in his 24th year teaching at McGill University Faculty of Dentistry the departments of Operative Dentistry and Practice Management. He is the 2018 recipient of McGill Faculty's Ralph Silverstone Teaching Award.

Dr. Konanec's passions lie in minimally invasive dentistry techniques enhanced by the use the dental operating microscope. He incorporates principles of Biomimetic Dentistry into his daily practice and teachings. As a member of the Richard V. Tucker gold inlay/onlay study club in Montreal, he is an ardent fan of the use of cast gold in the posterior area and he still speaks to his patients about it's long term benefits.

Content

This advanced posterior workshop dives deep into modern posterior composite dentistry using the Bioclear Method. Participants will explore Class modern II cavity preparation designs and the engineering principles behind non-retentive, compression-based enamel driven restorations. Emphasis is placed on replacing outdated GV Black tension-based preparations with biologically respectful designs that leverage modern materials, tooth anatomy, and stress distribution.

Attendees will learn how to manage deep margins predictably, update failing alloy restorations, and create durable posterior composites that are stronger, cleaner, and longer lasting. This course is ideal for clinicians ready to move beyond traditional concepts and elevate their posterior restorative outcomes. Attendees will also be given suggestions for scheduling and appropriate fees for these “super restorations” that can sometimes avoid the high biologic cost of an indirect crown. Patients are increasingly looking for alternatives to traditional destructive techniques when the posterior tooth is compromised. This is that answer

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand effective strategy and sequencing for completing multiple back-to-back Class II restorations.

  • Understand deep margin acquisition and predictable management techniques, including Selective Caries Removal.

  • Optimize prep and matrix selection for predictable composite cusp(s) replacement.

  • Restoring endodontically treated teeth with a Bioclear Overlay instead of a crown.

  • Learn to update GV Black–style preparations using engineering principles and create modern, non-retentive, compression-based designs.

  • Receive an update of the 5 pillars of the Bioclear Method.
